Sibelius Templates Overview
TWS template developer Hugh Smith gives a brief demonstration of how quickly you can be up and writing when using our Sibelius templates. From there, he takes you on a short tour of a few of the support files included in a typical template package.
Finale / VDL Template Compatibility Chart
This compatibility chart shows which Finale software version each VDL template will function in. As a general Finale rule, newer templates will not work with older versions of Finale. For example, VDL Template 2010b cannot be opened using Finale 2009 or earlier.

Where do the extra files such as the XML and Library files belong?
Each template package includes a ReadMe document outlining where to place these support documents. Please read through this information carefully, especially if you are new to Finale.
Where does the XML file go?
This depends on what version of Sibelius you’re using as well as what operating system you have. A list of the options can be found by going to the Installing a Sound Set page.
Are the Sibelius templates compatible with Sibelius 6 First?
No. You need to be running the full version of Sibelius 6.
Can I get the product I ordered on CD?
In order to help keep our prices low, we do not offer our products on CD. All of our products are downloadable only.

How do I unzip the template package?
All of the template packages available for download at The Write Score are placed in .zip files (ZIP on Wikipedia). You will need to unpack its contents to access the enclosed files.
Most computer operating systems have built-in software that allow users to unpack zip files. Mac users can just double-click the archive. Windows users can use the right-click context menu and choose Extract All.
